DEADHEAD, WEED AND WATER. REPEAT.....

Deadhead, weed and water.  Repeat........

Sound familiar?  That's basically the order of operations during the sweltering month of July for us gardening folk.  There's no getting around it.

But, the payoff looks something like this.........

or, even this.

This fern and ivy combo doesn't require any weeding or deadheading, but it sure loves water!

The poolside vegetable/herb planters I installed for one of my clients are providing an assortment of culinary accoutrements, with harvests of bush beans, tomatoes and cucumbers just weeks away.

The deep salmon flowered tropical hibiscus is a popular one, even for those whose color palette is usually in the pinks and purples.  There's just something about that punchy hue that epitomizes summer.

Isn't this stokesia just stunning?  It almost glows!  I think it's the perfect shade of blue to use in a garden.

And check out this zinnia bloom.  True to its description, the flower heads are super-sized.  This one's fourteen inches in diameter!  Just kidding; it's four.  Not too shabby.

  2. Stunningly beautiful plants and flower arrangements! Lovely gardens. My credit to the gardener. The weeding, deadheading and watering sure pays off. But I know the feeling - repeat and repeat all summer long...
