Lemon sugar is so simple to make and is a perfect tea lover's gift. Zest one lemon, place the zest in a small bowl, then let it dry for a few days. Crush the zest to a powdery consistency with a mortar and pestle; crushing it with your finger tips works, too. Mix the zest with one cup of raw sugar; that's enough to fill two small jars (one for your friend, and one for yourself). I repurposed two empty dried herb jars and embellished them for an added personal touch. Use within six months to one year from the date that it was made.
