THE BEAUTY OF LATE SUMMER

© Linda Nelson 2013

Late summer often stirs up mixed emotions within us.  Planned activities prompted by the sun's blanket of heat are waning, yet the delights of the next season are not quite in full swing.  Taking notice of the little treasures during this transitional period is worth the effort; I enjoyed my first one today.  Is this Oaxacan Green ornamental corn not a lovely little gem dressed in blue like that of a copper patina?  Sure, I had the pleasure of plucking fine, red specimen tomatoes from the vine all summer long.  But this guy wasn't ready until now.
By the way, does not the crisp evening air entice you to shop for a darling, little new cardigan?  Blessed late summer.
